Carles Cortes (Alcoi, 1968) is P.H.D in Catalonian Philology , is a Literature Professor of the University of Alicante and member of the Contemporary Literature research group and Transversal Studies. He began his literary carrer as author of short stories. He published the novels: Women Voice (Columna, 2001) he won the prize 25 d’Abril de Benissa (2000) ; Marta draw Bridges (Brosquil, 2003) Ciutat Sagunt Prize; Mary´s Silence (Brosquil, 2008), Women without attributes, narrativa erótica La Vall d’Albaida prize in 2009 (Bromera, 2010). He also collaborate in the book of erotic stories Direct to the point (Brosquil, 2007), with the authors Sebastià Alzamora, Julià de Jòdar e Isabel-Clara Simó. As a dramaturge he has released the play Women Voice(Saineters, 2005), Fets de Rei (Sa Butaca Teatre d’Alcúdia, 2008) and Silencis (Companyia Ferroviària d’Arts Escèniques, 2009). Nowadays he work on the adapted film of Marta Draw bridges (Gnomon Producciones) . Like a researcher he has published many studies about Merce Rodoreda an other contemporary catalonians authors. In this sense, he is an author of short stories anthologies like Isabel-Clara Simó, M. Mercè Roca, Carme Riera, M. Antònia Oliver o Caterina Albert. He is also the author of the biography of the painter Antoni Miro (Vull ser pintor! Ed. 3i 4, 2005).
