Mary´s Silence

Mary´s Silence is a novel of characters. Hector is accused of murdering his wife, Mary. Everybody thinks it too. A story that builds from the mysterious visit of Laura, a young woman who comes every Wednesday imposing the jail where the alleged murderer lives under the pretext of making your stay enjoyable. Laura discover the voice of Mary, her past, while living in a polygamous marriage in the first Arab city of Dubai. Two contrasting worlds within the mind of a protagonist in two cities  which the advancing desert and the moon becomes a witness of its changes. A novel strong, attractive, with a certain amount of mystery, we discover the truth by Laura’s hand.

This is the third novel by Carlos Cortes, who after Women  Voice and Marta draw bridges, is now building a multifaceted voice in which delve into the feelings of women in a world that oppresses him. A new narrative voice that addresses the characters and does not reveal his identity until the end of the novel. A story to be read without pause.
