The Railway Company of Performing Arts opened in June Silencis the stage production, directed by Paco Macia, on the text of Carles Cortes. The experiences in Dubai of Mary, the protagonist of this story, are the core of his novel, The silences of Mary (Brosquil, 2008), which he adapted.
Author’s statements at the Mostra de Teatre d’Alcoy 2009 (notícia completa): “When I finished writing my novel, The silences of Mary I realized that the narrative point of view led me have a play he needed to invent Mary’s voice, listen”.
For the author of the text, the stage adaptation is “fine” because there was a “coincidence full of nuances and character building.” Carles Cortés has no doubt the correctness of adaptation because “the mystery of the identity of the characters remains intact in the theater. Besides, now I could put my face and body characters. This is the magic of theater. “
Cortés thought that the work has the right proportions of innovation but also for theatrical traditions that can be understood by the public more critical.

Carles Cortes has conducted the study on the correspondence of the poet Miquel Martí i Pol and the painter Antoni Miro has been presented in the exhibition of the same name presented Thursday, May 28 in Barcelona at 18.30 hours (Institute of Catalan Studies, c. del Carme, 47).
The paper analyzes the relationship between the artists and their creative languages. Miquel Martí i Pol (Roda de Ter, March 19, 1929 – November 11, 2003) and Antoni Miró (Alcoy, 1944) were able to cross his work and a series of talks, oral and written, about his life and artistic preoccupations.
A fortuitous connection point has occurred and that offers more than fifteen years later, a basis for discussion important to understand the connection between two distant artistic languages such as poetry and painting.
The epistolary relationship between Marti i Pol and Miro, conducted between 1992 and 1994, is an excellent testimony to the interest in the work concerned. A good example of the potential for interference between distant artistic codes, matching when making a critical view of the world, as is the case of their careers. The relationships that we observe between the two artistic careers-very different natures, are mediated by the subjective reception that we can make each of these.
Thus, the poet, attracted by the paintings of the painter, wrote the poem “Draft letter to Antoni Miró”. For its part, the artist designed a collection of 38 collages on verses Parlavà Suite. Some parts where critical reflection of society eroticism become common axes in the expression of Miro, and Marti i Pol two distant worlds, painting and poetry, with Miro’s work and complementary approach, reduce the distance to give a speech together, alone.
